About this course

MA in Theatre Studies, a drama degree centred on the theatrical event and theatre culture from critical, historical and practical perspectives. Core topics include Research Methods. Industry practitioners of national and international standing contribute to teaching through close connections with the theatre industry. The first year covers the foundations through Theatre Studies 1: Reading The Stage and Theatre Studies 1: Theatre And Society. The second year progresses with Theatre Studies 2A: Thinking Through Theatre Histories and Theatre Studies 2B: Thinking Through Theatre Making. Later stages offer optional modules such as Devising, Performance Theory and Analysis, and Applied Theatre and Social Arts, alongside a Theatre Studies Dissertation.
