Entry requirements
A level: AAB (A in Maths required) IB: 28 points. Must include Maths achieved at Higher Level 6. Highers: AAAB (over two sittings). Must include Maths achieved at A. BTEC Extended Diploma: DDD. Must be in a relevant subject and contain sufficient Maths. HNC: B in graded unit. Must be in a relevant subject and contain sufficient Maths at SCQF Level 6. HND: BB in graded units. Must be in a relevant subject and contain sufficient Maths at SCQF Level 6.
About this course
BSc (Hons) in Mathematics and Mathematics and Statistics, combining pure mathematics with statistical methods. Core topics include Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, Calculus, Probability, Discrete Mathematics, and Logic and Proof. The programme includes a year-long work placement in the fourth year, leading to the Diploma in Industrial Training, and offers the option to transfer to other mathematical, statistical or actuarial programmes during the first two years.
