Applicants should have A level Biology/Applied Science at Grade C or above (or merit from relevant BTEC). Applicants taking the reformed A-level must also Pass the practical element. Applicants should also have GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade 4 or C or above (or equivalent). Other requirements Occupational Health checks to ensure that students are medically fit to undertake the programme. All students need a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance. Offers are subject to satisfactory references. Shortlisted candidates are required to attend an interview. Alternative qualifications IB Diploma: 30 points including 5 in Higher Level Biology. BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma / BTEC Extended Diploma: DMM in a relevant Applied Science subject, Sport or Sport and Exercise Science. Please note that Health and Social Care subjects are not accepted. BTEC National Diploma/ Diploma in ‘Applied Science’ or ‘Sport’ or ‘Sport and Exercise Science’ at MM plus 1A-Level or Equivalent to meet the 120 UCAS points requirement. BTEC National Extended Certificate/BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in ‘Applied Science’ or ‘Sport’ or ‘Sports and Exercise Science’ at M plus 2 A-Levels or Equivalent to meet the 120 UCAS points requirement. BTEC equivalent qualifications such as OCR Cambridge Technicals (we do not accept the certificate alone)/WJEC Applied Diplomas (we do not accept certificates) and NCFE Extended Diploma qualifications are accepted, if they contain sufficient biological science/sport and exercise science modules. T-Levels: distinction in a course in Health (with the occupational specialism ‘supporting therapy teams’) or Healthcare Science (with the occupational specialism ‘assisting with healthcare science’) will be considered.
About this course
BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy, combining anatomical and physiological study with clinical practice. Core topics include Research Methods, Clinical Skills, and Ethics & Professional Practice. The programme includes multiple six-week clinical placement blocks and is approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and accredited by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP). A literature review module offers the opportunity to undertake independent research.
