About this course
MEng in Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering, a biomedical engineering and materials science and engineering degree focused on advanced materials for healthcare and medical devices. The curriculum is professionally accredited and progresses to Master's level study in the final year. Students specialise in biomaterials during the third year and undertake an extensive research project in the fourth year. The course covers the processing, structure, and performance of materials, alongside targeted drug delivery and tissue engineered scaffolds. Later stages involve designing experiments to test hypotheses and investigating materials through characterisation techniques like electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction.
