About this course

BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, an electrical and electronic engineering degree focused on the principles and applications of electrical systems. Core topics include Programming, Systems Design, Circuit Design, Computer Architecture, Embedded Systems, Signal Processing, Microelectronics, Control Systems, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. The course features a common first year alongside practical laboratory work and group design projects, culminating in a substantial independent final-year project. The first year establishes engineering foundations through core modules such as Mathematics 1A, Analysis and Design of Circuits, Digital and Computer Architecture, Programming for Engineers, and Electronics Design Project. The second year advances core knowledge via Signal and Systems, Electromagnetism, Power Electronics and Power Systems, Communications, Control Systems, and Electronics Design Project 2. The third year includes an interdisciplinary I-Explore module, an individual project, and a wide selection of optional modules allowing specialisation in areas such as Deep Learning, Electric Vehicle Technology, Embedded Systems, Robotic Manipulation, and Semiconductor Devices.
