About this course

BEng in Electronic and Information Engineering, an electrical and electronic engineering degree combining electronics with computer science and information engineering. Core topics include Programming, Systems Design, Circuit Design, Computer Architecture, Embedded Systems, Signal Processing, Control Systems, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. The curriculum features a common first year programme across the department and substantial group electronics design projects in both the first and second years. The first year covers mathematical foundations, circuit analysis, digital design, and C++ programming through modules such as Mathematics 1A, Analysis and Design of Circuits, Digital and Computer Architecture, and Programming for Engineers. The second year advances core knowledge in communications, control, and information processing through modules like Communications, Control Systems, Information Processing, and Signals and Systems. In the third year, students undertake an individual project and choose from optional advanced modules spanning areas such as Advanced Signal Processing, Communication Systems, Deep Learning, Digital Systems Design, Electrical Vehicle Technology, Embedded Systems, Machine Learning, Robotic Manipulation, and Statistical Signal Processing and Inference.
