About this course

BSc in Mathematics with Statistics, a mathematics and mathematics and statistics degree centred on advanced mathematical theory, probability, and statistical methods. Core topics include Programming, Data Analysis, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, Research Methods, and Communication & Writing. Students complete an individual research project in the first year and a group research project in the second year, alongside a choice of optional modules in later stages. The first year covers core foundations through Introduction to University Mathematics, Analysis 1, Linear Algebra and Groups, and Calculus and Applications. The second year progresses to advanced topics including Probability for Statistics, Statistical Modelling 1, Linear Algebra and Numerical Analysis, and Analysis 2. Optional modules in the second year allow students to study subjects such as Groups and Rings, Lebesgue Measure and Integration, Partial Differential Equations in Action, Principles of Programming, and Classical Mechanics.
