About this course
MSci in Medical Science and Innovation, a medical science and innovation degree focused on translating scientific discovery into healthcare solutions. Core topics include Data Analysis, Statistics, Laboratory Techniques, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. This four-year integrated master's programme combines undergraduate study with advanced master's-level training, featuring faculty-mentored innovation projects and external partner contributions from industry and policy organisations. The first year covers foundational disease mechanisms through Cardiovascular Disease, Tuberculosis, and Sepsis. The second year examines complex conditions through Brain Injury, Alzheimer’s Disease, Type 2 Diabetes, and iExplore. The third year shifts focus to healthcare innovation with Old Age, Year 3 Health Challenge, and Set-up of Year 4 Health Challenge, alongside optional modules such as Advanced Laboratory Skills, Diagnostics, Digital Health, and Therapeutics. The final year centres on the Year 4 Health Challenge and Breakthroughs, with optional studies in Advanced Data Sciences, Policy, Public Health and Systems Change, and Medical Devices.
