About this course
BSc in Mathematics (Pure Mathematics), a mathematics degree centred on mathematical and computational approaches to physical theory. Core topics include Programming, Data Analysis, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, Research Methods, and Communication & Writing. The Pure Mathematics specialisation covers concepts such as Algebraic Number Theory, Functional Analysis, Topology and Probability Theory. The first year covers the foundations through Introduction to University Mathematics, Analysis 1, Linear Algebra and Groups, and Calculus and Applications. The second year progresses to advanced topics with modules including Analysis 2, Groups and Rings, Lebesgue Measure and Integration, and Multi-variable Calculus and Differential Equations. Optional modules allow students to explore areas such as Partial Differential Equations in Action, Principles of Programming, Probability for Statistics, and Statistical Modelling 1.
