A level: ABB including Maths at A but excluding Use of Maths. If taking both A level Mathematics and A level Further Mathematics: ABC including Maths at A and Further Maths at B but excluding Use of Maths. IB: 32 points in the IB Diploma or 128 UCAS tariff points, including HL Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches at 6.
About this course
BSc (Hons) in Mathematics, combining core mathematical theory with applied data science techniques. Core topics include Programming, Data Analysis, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, Research Methods, Critical & Analytical Thinking, Ethics & Professional Practice, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. Practical modules teach programming with R and Python, while a final-year dissertation allows research into a chosen mathematical area.
