Entry requirements
Qualifications needed for 2027: BEng (Hons): 112-128 UCAS tariff points At least three A Levels, including Mathematics and a science subject (Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science/Computing, Design and Technology or Electronics), or equivalent Level 3 qualifications. Alternatively, a BTEC National Extended Diploma in Engineering or a related subject, such as Aerospace / Aeronautical / Electrical / Electronic / Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering, will be considered. Applications from those that have undertaken an Engineering foundation year will also be considered. MEng: 128-144 UCAS tariff points At least three A Levels, including Mathematics and two science subjects (Physics, Further Mathematics, Chemistry, Computer Science/Computing, Design and Technology, Electronics), or equivalent Level 3 qualifications. Alternatively, a BTEC National Extended Diploma in Engineering or a related subject, such as Aerospace / Aeronautical / Electrical / Electronic / Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering, will be considered. Applications from those that have undertaken an Engineering foundation year will also be considered. BEng (Hons) including foundation year: 64 UCAS tariff points A minimum of 64 UCAS points from A-levels or equivalent Level 3 qualifications is required. Additional requirements: Entry onto this course does not require an interview, entrance test, audition or portfolio. English language: English language requirement for this course: Academic IELTS of 6.0 overall, with no element below 5.5. If you do not meet our English language requirements , you may be eligible for Kingston University's pre-sessional English language course. About this course
BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering, combining mechanical systems with artificial intelligence and robotics. Core topics include Embedded Systems, Control Systems, Signal Processing, Circuit Design, Programming, and Mathematical Modelling. A Team Design Project such as the IMechE Design Challenge features in the first year, and an optional placement year is available. The programme concludes with a supervised BEng Project requiring independent research and an engineering solution.
