You could achieve this with: You’ll also need a GCSE at grade C/4 or above in English Language. We accept equivalent qualifications, such as Functional/Key skills Level 2 in literacy. Additional requirements: DBS and checks Admission is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check, including checks against the Adult and Child Workforce Barring Lists. Work experience We consider relevant prior work, volunteering, study or personal experience. You should reflect on what you've learned from this and how it might help you develop skills, values and knowledge related to social work. You can include school experience or placements undertaken as part of an Access or BTEC course. Personal statement Make sure you give clear, complete details of your relevant experience in your Personal Statement, including what you have done, hours per week and duration. Your Personal Statement should also explain why you want to train as a social worker. It should be well-written, with no grammar or spelling errors. It plays a significant role in our decision about whether to shortlist you. Interview If your initial application is successful, we’ll invite you to an online interview with an academic and either a teaching partner or a person with lived experience. English language: English language requirement for this course: an IELTS score of 6.0 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in all elements. If you do not meet our English language requirements, you may be eligible for Kingston University's pre-sessional English language course. About this course
BA (Hons) in Social Work, combining practice-based learning with academic study. Core topics include Research Methods and Critical & Analytical Thinking. The course includes a 70-day first placement and a 100-day final placement in statutory settings across South West London and Surrey, with practice assessed against the Professional Capabilities Framework. A capstone Research in Practice Study enables students to apply theoretical and research evidence to social work practice.
