About this course

BSc Hons in Accounting and Finance, an accounting and finance degree centred on professional accounting standards, corporate finance, and financial markets. Core topics include Programming, Control Systems, Data Analysis, Statistics, Research Methods, Project Management, Financial Analysis, Accounting, Marketing, Legal Analysis, Critical & Analytical Thinking, and Human Behaviour. The curriculum carries professional accounting body accreditations that allow graduates to qualify for exemptions from professional examinations. The first year covers core quantitative, economic, and institutional principles through Quantitative Methods, Foundations of Accounting, Foundations of Economics, and Data Analytics for Accounting and Finance. The second year introduces key operational and reporting standards via Principles of Corporate Finance, Financial Reporting, Management Accounting and Information Systems, and Professional Development and Experiential Learning, alongside optional choices such as Business Law, Foundations of Asset Pricing, Financial Markets, and Auditing and Control/Accountability. The final year focuses on advanced practice and strategic decision-making through Advanced Financial and Sustainability Reporting, Contemporary Issues in Accounting and Finance, Advanced Corporate Finance, and Strategic Management Accounting.
