About this course

BSc Hons in Biochemistry (Study Abroad), a biochemistry degree exploring the cellular, molecular and chemical interactions within living systems. Core topics include Laboratory Techniques, Research Methods, Psychological Assessment, Clinical Skills, Critical & Analytical Thinking, Human Behaviour, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. This four-year degree includes a third year spent studying at an approved international partner university, and culminates in an independent research project in the final year. The first year covers fundamentals through compulsory modules such as Fundamentals of Chemistry A, Genetics and Biotechnology, Introduction to Biosciences, Microbes, Pathogens and Immunity, and Molecules to Cells, with optional modules available in areas like pharmacology and chemistry. The second year focuses on cellular metabolism and protein life cycles through compulsory modules including Biochemistry of Cellular Metabolism, Life Cycle of Proteins, and Microbiology and Immunology, alongside optional choices such as Cell and Developmental Biology and Drug Design and Development. The third year is spent abroad. The final year comprises compulsory modules like Bioinformatics, Biosciences Research Project, and Global Health Challenges, alongside optional modules covering topics such as Advanced Drug Design and Development, Cancer Biology and Therapeutics, and Medical Genetics and Clinical Immunology.
