About this course

BSc Hons in Biomedicine (Study Abroad), a biomedical science degree centred on biological and medical principles to understand, diagnose, manage and treat diseases. Core topics include Laboratory Techniques, Research Methods, Psychological Assessment, Clinical Skills, Critical & Analytical Thinking, Human Behaviour, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. The four-year structure includes a third year spent studying abroad at an approved international partner university, and culminates in a final-year research project. The first year covers the foundations through Anatomy and Physiology, Genetics and Biotechnology, and Introduction to Biosciences. The second year explores cellular principles and disease mechanisms through Biochemistry of Cellular Metabolism, Cell and Developmental Biology, and Molecular Genetics. The third year consists entirely of the Study Abroad placement. The final year involves advanced coursework alongside compulsory modules such as Biosciences Research Project and Cancer Biology and Therapeutics. Optional modules in the final year allow students to specialise in areas such as Advanced Drug Design and Development, Bioinformatics, and Pathobiology.
