A level: ABB. This should include Chemistry and one other science subject from: Biology, Computing, Economics, Environmental Science, Geography, Geology, Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics or Psychology. IB: 32 points overall with 16 points from the best 3 HL subjects including 6 in Chemistry and 6 in a further HL science subject
About this course
BSc Hons in Chemistry (Study Abroad), a chemistry degree within the chemistry subject area. Core topics include data analysis and laboratory techniques. The course includes a year spent overseas at an approved international partner university during the third year, and features a major research project in the final year. The first year establishes core foundations through Fundamentals of Chemistry A, Fundamentals of Chemistry B, Introduction to Practical Chemistry, Molecules to Cells, Principles of Physics and Sustainability for Chemistry, and Professional and Research Skills in Chemistry. The second year expands chemical knowledge via Concepts in Physical Chemistry, Inorganic and Materials Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Practical and Skills in Chemistry A, Practical and Skills in Chemistry B, and Principles of Chemical Structure Determination. The third year consists of a dedicated Study Abroad placement at an international partner institution. The fourth year concludes the degree with advanced study through Advanced Practical Skills in Chemistry, Chemistry Project and Skills, Physical Chemistry of Complex Systems, and Strategies in Chemical Synthesis.
