About this course
BSc Hons in Computer Science, a computer science degree centred on theoretical and practical aspects of computing. Core topics include Programming, Systems Design, Computer Architecture, Embedded Systems, Data Analysis, Statistics, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. The final year includes a substantial individual project completed alongside an academic researcher. The first year covers foundational principles through Digital Systems, Fundamentals of Computer Science, Software Development, and Designing Software Systems. The second year progresses to collaborative problem-solving and system evaluation via Computer Science Group Project, HCI: Designing for People, Networks and Systems, and Secure Data and Systems. Optional choices across the course allow study in areas such as artificial intelligence, cyber security, extended reality, and advanced programming. The third year centres on advanced study through elective modules and the independent capstone project.
