About this course
MEng Hons in Electronic and Electrical Engineering (Study Abroad), an electrical and electronic engineering degree focused on the principles and applications of modern hardware, power systems, and communications technology. Core topics include Programming, Systems Design, Circuit Design, Computer Architecture, Embedded Systems, Signal Processing, Microelectronics, Control Systems, Data Analysis, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, Research Methods, Project Management, Critical & Analytical Thinking, Entrepreneurship, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. The programme features a shared first year with all engineering students, a dedicated year spent studying abroad at a partner institution, and an individual final-year project. The first year establishes general foundations through Applied Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Science, Engineering Skills, Engineering Systems, Engineering Thermofluids, and Fundamental Engineering Mathematics. The second year shifts focus towards specialist discipline areas via Control and Robotics, Digital Electronics and Software, Electrical Circuits and Analogue Electronics, Electromagnetism and Communications, Electronics Materials and Manufacturing, and Power Engineering. The third year advances technical proficiency through Digital Signal Processing, Engineering Management and Entrepreneurship, Engineering Project, High Frequency Circuit Engineering and Communications, and Power Electronics and Applications. The final year involves an Individual Project and Industrial Consultancy alongside optional modules such as Advanced Embedded Systems, Advanced RF Engineering, Control and Machine Learning, Electric Vehicles, Electrical Power Systems, and Mechatronics and Control Engineering.
