About this course

BA Hons in English Language and Creative Writing (Study Abroad), an English Language and Linguistics and Creative Writing BA (Hons) degree uniting textual creation with the systematic study of language. Core topics include Research Methods, Project Management, Critical & Analytical Thinking. The third year is spent studying abroad at an international partner university. The first year covers the foundations through Introduction to Creative Writing, Foundations of Language, English across Space and Time, English in Use, and Re-Making Tradition. Year two develops technical capabilities through English Grammar, Developing Your Writing Practice, Language and Creativity in Advertising, and Writing Fiction, while offering optional modules such as Language and Pedagogic Practice, Professional Communication, Writing Poetry, English Phonetics, Language Acquisition, and Discourse Studies.
