About this course

BSc Hons in Environmental Science (Study Abroad), an environmental science degree centred on natural systems, global change and sustainability. Core topics include Programming, Data Analysis, Statistics, Laboratory Techniques, Research Methods, Fieldwork, Environmental Analysis, Critical & Analytical Thinking, and Entrepreneurship. The four-year programme includes an approved year abroad at an international partner university and concludes with an independent final-year dissertation project. The first year covers core foundations through Atmosphere, Weather and Climate, Biodiversity and Global Change, Introduction to Practical Environmental Science, Foundation Skills for LEC, Geology, and Catchment Science. The second year progresses with compulsory studies in Atmospheric Science, Environmental Data Analysis and Visualisation, Environmental Field Skills, Hydrology and Water Quality, and Soil Science, alongside optional modules such as Ecology and Conservation or Glaciology. The final year centres on an independent dissertation project alongside a wide range of optional modules covering topics such as Climate Change, Geological Hazards, Sustainable Agriculture, Eco-Innovation for Sustainable Development, and Water Resources Management.
