Core topics include Research Methods, Project Management, Critical & Analytical Thinking, Social & Cultural Analysis, and Global & Comparative Perspective. Students gain access to production facilities featuring digital cameras, lighting equipment and editing suites, and final-year students have opportunities to exhibit their films at a local arts venue. The first year establishes core foundations through Introduction to Film Studies and Introduction to Creative Writing, alongside optional choices such as British Cinema and Understanding Media and Culture. The second year expands technical and creative proficiency with Global Cinemas, Developing Your Writing Practice, and Writing Fiction, complemented by optional modules including Screenwriting, Short Film Production, and Film Theory and Aesthetics.
