A level: AAB. This should include Mathematics or Statistics. IB: 35 points overall with 16 points from the best 3 HL subjects, including 6 in Mathematics HL (either analysis and approaches or applications and interpretations)
About this course
BSc Hons in Finance, a degree in the Accounting and Finance subject area focusing on modern financial markets, quantitative methods, and corporate decision-making. Core topics include Programming, Data Analysis, Statistics, Financial Analysis, Accounting, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. Students can undertake an optional study abroad period or complete an internship, and have the opportunity to take the Chartered Financial Analyst Level 1 examination. The first year introduces foundational concepts through Mathematical Foundations for Finance, Foundations of Accounting, Foundations of Economics, Data Visualisation with Python and R, Foundations of Financial Markets, Securities and Institutions, and Professional Development for Accounting and Finance. The second year progresses to Econometrics for Finance, Financial Markets, Principles of Corporate Finance, Financial Time Series Analysis, Foundations of Asset Pricing, and Professional Development and Experiential Learning. The final year covers Advanced Corporate Finance, Investments and Portfolio Management, Forecasting, Machine Learning and AI, Advanced Investments using Machine Learning and AI, and Contemporary Issues in Accounting and Finance as a capstone project. Optional modules in the final year include Banking and Behavioural Finance, Chartered Financial Analyst Level One, ESG, Climate and Energy Finance, and Fintech and Market Microstructure.
