A level: AAB. We recommend that this includes Geography, or alternatively you should have one of the following subjects: Classics, Economics, English Literature, History, Philosophy, Psychology, Religious Studies, and Sociology. IB: 35 points overall with 16 points from the best 3 HL subjects including Geography or alternative cognate subject at HL grade 6
About this course
BA Hons in Geography and Economics, an economics and geography degree exploring the intersection of spatial dynamics, resource allocation, and market systems. Core topics include Data Analysis, Statistics, Research Methods, Fieldwork, Policy Analysis, Critical & Analytical Thinking, and Entrepreneurship. Students undertake residential fieldwork trips in locations such as Cumbria during the course. The first year covers core grounding through Foundation Skills for LEC, Foundations of Macroeconomics, Foundations of Microeconomics, and Global Human Geography. In the second year, students build competence via Environmental Geography, Intermediate Macroeconomics, Intermediate Microeconomics, and Political and Economic Geography. Optional choices across the degree allow specialization in areas such as economic inequality, environmental economics, and spatial data analysis. The final year involves advanced study including Current Issues in Economics and Writing Geography and Economics alongside further optional modules.
