About this course

BA Hons in Geography, a geography degree centred on human and environmental interactions within the Earth's planetary systems. Core topics include Data Analysis, Research Methods, Fieldwork, Environmental Analysis, Critical & Analytical Thinking, Entrepreneurship, Human Behaviour, and Design & Creative Practice. Students complete an independent dissertation project in the final year, with options to collaborate with regional organisations for practical work experience. The first year establishes core foundations through modules such as Foundation Skills for LEC, Global Human Geography, Introducing Research in Geography, Reading the Landscape, and Society and Place. The second year advances core knowledge through modules including Geographical Data Science and Political and Economic Geography, while allowing students to select from various human-centric and physical options. The final year centres on the Dissertation core module, alongside advanced optional studies. Optional modules span diverse areas such as urban challenges, creative geographies, eco-innovation, and international field courses in locations like tropical Asia and Scotland.
