About this course

BSc Hons in Geography, a geography degree focused on environmental processes, spatial dynamics, and human-environment interactions. Core topics include Data Analysis, Statistics, Research Methods, Fieldwork, Environmental Analysis, Communication & Writing, Critical & Analytical Thinking, Entrepreneurship, and Human Behaviour. The programme includes a final-year independent research project culminating in a dissertation. The first year covers foundational concepts through compulsory modules such as Foundation Skills for LEC, Global Human Geography, Introducing Research in Geography, and Reading the Landscape, alongside optional subjects like Atmosphere, Weather and Climate. The second year advances core capabilities through Geographical Data Science, Living with the Landscape, and Physical Geography in Practice, while offering diverse optional modules including Atmospheric Science, Ecology and Conservation, Environmental Geography, Glaciology, Hydrology and Water Quality, Political and Economic Geography, Soil Science, and Sustainable Hebrides: Field Course.
