Entry requirements
A level: ABB. We recommend that this includes Geography, or alternatively you should have one of the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Classics, Economics, English Literature, Environmental Studies, Geology, History, Mathematics, Philosophy, Physics, Psychology, Religious Studies, and Sociology. IB: 32 points overall with 16 points from the best 3 HL subjects including Geography or alternative cognate subject at HL grade 6
About this course
BSc Hons in Geography (Study Abroad), a geography degree centred on human, physical, and environmental geography. Core topics include Data Analysis, Statistics, Research Methods, Fieldwork, Environmental Analysis, Communication & Writing, Critical & Analytical Thinking, Entrepreneurship, Human Behaviour. The course includes an approved international partner university placement during the third year, and a final-year independent research dissertation. The first year covers core subjects through Foundation Skills for LEC, Global Human Geography, Introducing Research in Geography, and Reading the Landscape. The second year progresses to advanced investigations via modules such as Geographical Data Science, Living with the Landscape, and Physical Geography in Practice. Optional choices in the curriculum span areas like atmospheric science, ecology, glaciology, hydrology, and soil science. The final year focuses on advanced study, featuring the Dissertation alongside specialized optional modules covering urban challenges, climate change, political ecology, and resource management.
