About this course

BA Hons in History and Politics is an undergraduate degree centred on Politics and International Relations and History, combining historical analysis with the study of political systems. Core topics include Data Analysis, Statistics, Research Methods, Policy Analysis, Historical Research, Critical & Analytical Thinking, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, and Global & Comparative Perspective. The course offers optional study abroad and placement opportunities. Year 1 introduces foundational concepts through compulsory modules such as Parties, Populism and Protest, Policy Lab, Controversy in History, and Modern Worlds. Year 2 advances subject knowledge with core modules including Theories of Power and the State, Human and Environment, and Understanding Political Research. In the final year, students complete a compulsory Politics and International Relations Dissertation.
