About this course
BA Hons History (Placement Year) is an undergraduate History degree focusing on political, social, and cultural developments across different eras and global regions. Core topics include Data Analysis, Research Methods, Historical Research, and Critical & Analytical Thinking. Students undertake a professional work placement year in their third year to gain practical workplace experience before completing an independent dissertation. The first year establishes fundamental training through modules such as Handling Historical Evidence, Medieval and Early Modern Worlds, Revolutions in History, Controversy in History, and Modern Worlds, alongside optional subjects like Doing Criminology: How We Know About Crime and Global Challenges in World Politics.
