About this course

BA Hons in International Relations (Study Abroad), a politics and international relations degree centred on political theory, global governance, and international institutions. Core topics include Statistics, Research Methods, Policy Analysis, Historical Research, Critical & Analytical Thinking, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, and Global & Comparative Perspective. Students complete a study abroad period at an international partner university during the third year. The first year introduces foundational themes through compulsory modules such as Origins and Foundations of International Relations, Global Challenges in World Politics, Global Governance and International Institutions, Critical Perspectives on Global Politics, and Political Theory for a Troubled World, with optional modules spanning topics like microeconomics and sociology. The second year builds research capabilities through compulsory study including Understanding Political Research and Reshaping Global Order, alongside optional modules covering authoritarianism, global capitalism, and superpowers. The third year is spent studying abroad at an international partner institution.
