About this course

BSc Hons in Language Sciences, an English Language and Linguistics degree centred on the scientific investigation of human speech, cognitive processes, and computational frameworks. Core topics include Programming, Statistics, Research Methods, Critical & Analytical Thinking, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. Students examine linguistic structures, language acquisition, and forensic contexts through an empirical lens. The first year establishes foundational concepts through compulsory modules such as English across Space and Time, Foundations of Language, Language in Mind and Society, and Linguistic Inquiry and Applications, with options to study modern languages or computing essentials.
