About this course
LLB Hons in Law (Clinical Learning) is an undergraduate law degree centred on legal systems and professional practice. Core topics include Research Methods, Legal Analysis, Communication & Writing, Critical & Analytical Thinking, Ethics & Professional Practice, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, and Design & Creative Practice. Students gain hands-on experience by advising clients in the School of Law's Legal Advice Clinic under supervision, and can use a purpose-built mock court room for mooting. The first year covers the foundational rules and institutions through compulsory modules such as Legal Systems and Sources, Contract Law, Skills, Ethics and Professional Practice, Legal Systems and Justice, Criminal Law, and Public Law. The second year examines civil wrongs and dispute resolution methods, featuring core modules like Tort Law, Mediation and Conflict Resolution, and Land Law, alongside optional modules in areas such as Business Law and Practice, European Union Law, Family Law, International Law, Civil Litigation and Dispute Resolution, Commercial Law, Employment Law, Financial Crime, Human Rights and Civil Liberties, International Law on Force, Territory and Human Rights, Law and Young People, Legal Tech and Innovation, Organised Crime, and Cybercrime and Cybercriminality. The third year consolidates advanced legal topics with core Equity and Trusts Law, while offering optional modules covering Company Law, Environmental Law, Immigration and Asylum Law, Inheritance Law, Healthcare Law and Ethics, Contemporary Issues in Corporate Governance, Evidence, Intellectual Property Law and Policy, Human Rights, Mass Atrocities and Transitional Justice, Sex Crimes and Sexual Offending, Street Law, Drugs, Crime and Society, Green Criminology, Queer Futures (Discovery module), and Confronting the Climate Crisis (Discovery module), with an optional Law Dissertation available.
