About this course

LLB Hons Law is an undergraduate law degree centred on foundational legal principles, professional practice and justice systems. Core topics include Research Methods, Legal Analysis, Communication & Writing, Critical & Analytical Thinking, Ethics & Professional Practice, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, and Design & Creative Practice. Students gain access to a purpose-built mock courtroom for practical training and experiential learning opportunities such as client interviewing in a legal clinic. The first year covers core foundations through modules such as Legal Systems and Sources, Contract Law, Skills, Ethics and Professional Practice, Legal Systems and Justice, Criminal Law, and Public Law. The second year introduces compulsory study in Tort Law and Land Law, alongside optional choices covering Business Law and Practice, European Union Law, Family Law, International Law, Mediation and Conflict Resolution, Civil Litigation and Dispute Resolution, Commercial Law, Employment Law, Financial Crime, Human Rights and Civil Liberties, International Law on Force, Territory and Human Rights, Law and Young People, Legal Tech and Innovation, Organised Crime, and Cybercrime and Cybercriminality. The final year includes compulsory Equity and Trusts Law, complemented by optional modules such as Company Law, Environmental Law, Immigration and Asylum Law, Inheritance Law, Healthcare Law and Ethics, Contemporary Issues in Corporate Governance, Evidence, Intellectual Property Law and Policy, Human Rights, Mass Atrocities and Transitional Justice, Sex Crimes and Sexual Offending, Street Law, Drugs, Crime and Society, Green Criminology, Queer Futures, Confronting the Climate Crisis, and the option to complete a Law Dissertation.
