About this course

LLB Hons in Law with Politics, a degree spanning Politics and International Relations and Law. Core topics include Statistics, Research Methods, Legal Analysis, Policy Analysis, Communication & Writing, Critical & Analytical Thinking, Ethics & Professional Practice, Design & Creative Practice, and Global & Comparative Perspective. Students have access to a purpose-built Mock Court Room for mooting activities and can participate in practical initiatives such as the Law Clinic and the Street Law project. The first year establishes foundational knowledge with compulsory modules including Legal Systems and Sources, Legal Systems and Justice, Contract Law, Criminal Law, Public Law, and Parties, Populism and Protest. The second year continues core legal and political study through Tort Law, Land Law, Theories of Power and the State, and Understanding Political Research, while introducing optional choices such as Legal Tech and Innovation, Financial Crime, Human Rights and Civil Liberties, and European Union Law. In the final year, Equity and Trusts Law forms a core requirement, alongside a broad selection of optional modules covering areas such as Healthcare Law and Ethics, Environmental Law, Human Rights, Mass Atrocities and Transitional Justice, Parliamentary Studies, and Policymaking in the Real World, with an independent Law Dissertation also available.
