About this course
BSc Hons in Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics and Economics (MORSE) (Study Abroad), a mathematics and mathematics, operational research, statistics and economics and economics degree centred on applying mathematical skills to business and industry challenges. Core topics include Programming, Data Analysis, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, Policy Analysis, Human Behaviour, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. This four-year programme includes an integrated third year spent studying abroad at an approved international partner university. Following foundational studies, the first year establishes core knowledge through Computing for Business Decision Making, Principles of Macroeconomics, Principles of Microeconomics, and Probability and Statistics. The second year progresses into more advanced methods with Applied Data Science, Business Optimisation and Simulation, and Forecasting and Machine Learning, alongside optional choices such as Games and Strategic Behaviour. The fourth year concludes the degree with advanced compulsory study in Advanced Optimisation and Simulation and Statistical Inference. Students can further tailor their final year by selecting from a broad range of optional modules including Advanced Machine Learning for Data Mining, Dynamic Modelling, Econometrics and Data Science in Economics, and Mathematical Finance.
