About this course
BSc Hons in Mathematics (Study Abroad), a mathematics degree centred on analytical and problem-solving approaches to mathematical theory. Core topics include Programming, Signal Processing, Data Analysis, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, Accounting, Critical & Analytical Thinking, Human Behaviour, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. The course includes a dedicated third year spent studying abroad at an approved international partner university. The first year covers foundational principles through modules such as Logic and Discrete Mathematics, Symmetry and Sequences, Matrices and Calculus, and Probability and Statistics, alongside optional choices. Year 2 advances this knowledge with compulsory modules including Linear Algebra, Real Analysis, Multivariate Probability and Statistics, and Project Skills, paired with optional modules. The third year is spent on an international study abroad placement. In the final year, students select modules from a broad range of advanced options such as Commutative Algebra, Hilbert Spaces, Knots and Geometry, Metric Spaces and Topology, and Mathematical Cryptography.
