About this course

BSc Hons in Mathematics with Computer Science (Study Abroad), an undergraduate degree combining mathematics and computer science. Core topics include Programming, Systems Design, Computer Architecture, Embedded Systems, Signal Processing, and Control Systems. The four-year programme includes an international placement year spent studying abroad at an approved partner university. The first year covers core foundations through Fundamentals of Computer Science, Logic and Discrete Mathematics, Matrices and Calculus, Probability and Statistics, Software Development, and Symmetry and Sequences. The second year expands into advanced topics with Linear Algebra, Project Skills, and Secure Data and Systems, alongside optional choices such as Abstract Algebra, Applied Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Complex Analysis, Extended Reality, Internet Applications, Mathematics of Artificial Intelligence, Multivariate Probability and Statistics, and Real Analysis. The third year is dedicated entirely to the study abroad placement. In the final year, students select from a broad range of advanced optional modules spanning specialized areas of mathematics and computing.
