About this course
BSc Hons in Mathematics with Economics (Study Abroad), a mathematics and economics degree centred on mathematical and computational approaches to economic theory. Core topics include Programming, Data Analysis, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, Policy Analysis, Human Behaviour, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. The third year is spent studying abroad at an approved international partner university. Following the first year focusing on foundational knowledge through Matrices and Calculus, Principles of Macroeconomics, Principles of Microeconomics, and Probability and Statistics, students progress to advanced study. The second year builds expertise through Applied Data Science, Linear Algebra, Microeconomic Analysis, and Multivariate Probability and Statistics. Optional modules enable specialisation in areas such as behavioural economics, econometrics, mathematical finance, and public policy analysis. The fourth year features advanced coursework including Statistical Inference alongside a wide range of specialised electives.
