About this course
BA Hons in Media and Cultural Studies (Study Abroad), a Scottish Ethnology and Studies and Film Studies degree centred on contemporary media, cultural dynamics, and digital transformations. Core topics include Research Methods, Critical & Analytical Thinking, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, and Global & Comparative Perspective. Students spend the third year studying abroad at an international partner university and complete an independent project in the final year. The first year introduces foundational themes through compulsory modules such as Understanding Media and Culture, Transformations in Digital Media, Media, Power and Identity, and Screens and Selves, with options including British Cinema and Thinking Sociologically.
