Entry requirements
A level: AAB. This should include Biology and one other science subject from: Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics or Psychology. IB: 35 points overall with 16 points from the best 3 HL subjects including 6 in HL Biology and 6 in one further HL science subjects from Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics or Psychology
About this course
BSc Hons in Neuroscience (Study Abroad), a biomedical science degree centred on the study of the nervous system, brain function, and related disorders. Core topics include Laboratory Techniques, Research Methods, Psychological Assessment, Historical Research, Critical & Analytical Thinking, Human Behaviour, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. Students spend their third year studying abroad at an approved international partner university. The first year introduces fundamentals through Anatomy and Physiology, Cognitive and Social Psychology, Developmental Psychology and Neuropsychology, and Foundations of Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Science. The second year progresses with Cognitive Neuroscience, Cognitive Psychology, Drug Design and Development, and Fundamentals of Neuroscience. The final year includes Advanced Neuroscience - Circuits and Systems, Biosciences Research Project, Global Health Challenges, and The Lying Brain: the Neuroscience of Hallucinations, Delusions, and Disorders of Consciousness. Optional modules in the final year allow students to study Advanced Drug Design and Development or Cognition: From Laboratory Research to Everyday Behaviour. The course culminates in an independent research project.
