About this course
BSc Hons in Physics with Astrophysics (Study Abroad), a physics degree centred on physics and physics with astrophysics. Core topics include Programming, Data Analysis, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, Laboratory Techniques, Communication & Writing, and Critical & Analytical Thinking. The four-year degree includes a third year spent studying abroad at an approved international partner university. The first year covers core foundations through The Physical Universe, Fields, Matter and Quantum Physics, Physics Skills, Experimental Physics, Mathematical Skills 1, and Mathematical Skills 2. Year 2 advances into Stellar and Nebular Astrophysics, Electromagnetism, Waves and Optics, Mathematical Techniques in Physics, Physics Modelling Project, Properties of Matter, and Quantum Mechanics and Atomic Physics. Year 3 consists of the Study Abroad placement. The final year concludes with advanced studies including Astrophysical Data Lab, Astrophysics Group Project, Cosmology, Space Physics, Problem Solving and Sustainability, and Relativity, Nuclear and Particle Physics.
