Entry requirements
A level: AAB. This should include grade B in either French, German or Spanish, or if this is to be studied from beginners' level, you should have AS grade B or A level grade B in another foreign language, or GCSE grade 7/A in a foreign language. IB: 35 points overall with 16 points from the best 3 HL subjects including appropriate evidence of language ability
About this course
BA Hons in Psychology and Languages, a psychology and modern languages degree centred on the scientific study of how humans think and behave. Core topics include Data Analysis, Statistics, Research Methods, Historical Research, Critical & Analytical Thinking, and Human Behaviour. This four-year degree is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and includes a mandatory third-year global engagement period spent abroad at a partner university, working in industry, or with an NGO. The first year covers foundational concepts through compulsory modules such as Cognitive and Social Psychology, Developmental Psychology and Neuropsychology, Foundations of Psychological Research, and Introduction to Psychological Research, alongside optional language learning in Chinese, French, German, Italian, or Spanish. The second year advances core knowledge through modules including Cognitive Psychology, Experimental Methods for Psychology, Qualitative and Quantitative Methods for Psychology, and Social Psychology, complemented by continuing language options. The third year consists of the Global Engagement Year (CEFR B2/C1 or HSK 5/6). The final year completes the curriculum with compulsory modules like Becoming Proficient in Languages (CEFR C1/C2 / HSK 6/6) - 3, Cognitive Neuroscience, and Developmental Psychology, concluding with the Psychological Dissertation.
