A level: BBB . Theatre, Drama, Dance or Performing Arts are considered desirable subjects, but we would also welcome an application from you if you can demonstrate experience and interest in practical theatre in your application. IB: 30 overall with 15 points from the best 3 HL subjects. About this course
BA Hons in Theatre and Performing (Study Abroad), a drama degree centred on performance practice, creative collaboration and theatrical theory. Core topics include Research Methods, Critical & Analytical Thinking, and Design & Creative Practice. The third year is spent studying abroad at an international partner university, while the final year culminates in an advanced performance project and an independent research project. The first year establishes foundations through core modules such as Making Theatre 1: Acting, Directing and Collaborating, Living Theory, Raw Materials of Performance, and Accessibility and Inclusion in Creative Industries, alongside optional choices like Art Histories and Contexts and British Cinema. The second year advances performance-making through Making Theatre 2: Beyond the Stage, Sustainable Practice, and Theatre and Society 2, while offering options including Playwriting, Screenwriting, and Short Film Production. The third year consists of Your Year Abroad. The fourth year features advanced practical and independent work through Making Theatre 3: Advanced Performance Project and Theatre Independent Project, with further optional modules such as Documentary Production, Gothic and Science Fiction, and Live Performance Criticism allowing students to tailor their studies.
