About this course
BSc Hons in Zoology (Study Abroad), a zoology degree centred on the study of animal biology, ecosystems, and evolutionary processes. Core topics include Programming, Data Analysis, Statistics, Laboratory Techniques, Research Methods, Fieldwork, Psychological Assessment, Environmental Analysis, Critical & Analytical Thinking, Human Behaviour. The four-year programme incorporates a dedicated third year spent studying abroad at an approved international partner university and culminates in an independent final-year dissertation project. The first year establishes core foundations through Biodiversity and Global Change, Ecology Field and Data Skills, Evolutionary Biology, and Foundation Skills for LEC, alongside two optional modules spanning areas such as genetics or cellular biology. The second year advances core knowledge via Biological Research Design and Delivery, Ecology Field Skills, Evolution, and Vertebrate Biology, complemented by two optional modules in subjects like neuroscience or environmental data analysis. The third year is spent abroad at an international partner institution. The final year centres on the independent Dissertation module, alongside a broad selection of optional modules covering advanced topics such as Animal Behaviour, Bioinformatics, Coral Reef Ecology, and Tropical Ecology and Conservation Field Course.
