About this course
BSc in Actuarial Mathematics, a mathematics and accounting and finance degree spanning mathematical science and business applications. Core topics include Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, and Accounting. The programme is jointly delivered by the School of Mathematics and Leeds University Business School and holds accreditation from the Royal Statistical Society and the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. The first year covers core subjects through modules such as Core Mathematics, Probability and Statistics, Computational Mathematics and Modelling, and Introductory Financial Accounting. The second year introduces deeper methods via Statistical Methods, Stochastic Processes, Time Series, and Financial Mathematics, alongside optional choices including Vector Calculus and Partial Differential Equations, Optimisation, and Introduction to Logic. The final year focuses on advanced study through Project in Mathematics, Actuarial Mathematics 1, Actuarial Mathematics 2, Stochastic Calculus and Derivative Pricing, and Statistical Modelling.
