About this course
BEng in Architectural Engineering (Industrial), a civil engineering degree focusing on the design and performance of structures and building systems. Core topics include Engineering Design and Research Methods. The course includes a 4-year duration with an accredited curriculum and practical studio and laboratory facilities. Year 1 establishes foundational knowledge through modules such as Architecture and Sustainability, Surveying, Construction Technology and Management, Structural Analysis and Design, and Integrated Design Project 1 (including Design Studio 1). Year 2 progresses with technical topics covered in Water Engineering and Geotechnics, Design Studio 2, Structural Design and Materials 1, and Building Physics 1: Fundamental Principles. Year 4 involves advanced study through Water Engineering and Geotechnics 2, Structural Design and Materials 2, Design Studio 3.2, and Individual Research Project 1. Optional modules in the final year allow study in areas such as Environmental Health Engineering in Developing Countries and Computational Methods for Civil Engineering.
