About this course
MEng, BEng in Architectural Engineering (Industrial), a civil engineering degree focused on the design and operation of high-performance structures and building systems. Core topics include Engineering Design and Research Methods. The course includes an industrial placement year. The first year covers core principles through Architecture and Sustainability, Structural Analysis and Design, Materials, Water and Soils, and Engineering Mathematics and Modelling 1. The second year progresses with Water Engineering and Geotechnics, Architectural History and Theory 2, Building Physics 1: Fundamental Principles, and Design Studio 2. The fourth year features Water Engineering and Geotechnics 2, Building Physics 2: Services Design, and an Individual Research Project 1, alongside optional study in areas such as Computational Methods for Civil Engineering. The final year concludes with Management, Practice and Law, Building Physics 3, and Design Studio 4.2.
