About this course
MEng, BEng in Architecture (Industrial), a civil engineering and architecture degree focusing on structural and environmental building design. Core topics include Research Methods, Project Management, and Engineering Design. This five-year integrated course combines professional training across multiple disciplines with practical access to specialist design studios and model-making facilities. The first year covers foundational principles through modules such as Architecture and Sustainability, Structural Analysis and Design, Materials, Water and Soils, and Integrated Design Project 1. The second year progresses with Water Engineering and Geotechnics, Design Studio 2, Architectural History and Theory 2, and Building Physics 1: Fundamental Principles. The third year involves advanced study including Structural Design and Materials 2, Design Studio 3.1, Individual Research Project 1, and Building Physics 2: Services Design. The fifth year concludes the programme with advanced modules such as Sustainable Cities, Law, Practice & Project Management, Building Physics 3, and Design Studio 4.1.
