About this course
MEng, BEng in Architecture, an undergraduate civil engineering and architecture degree focused on building design, structures, and building physics. Core topics include Engineering Design, Project Management, and Research Methods. The course is accredited and validated by the Joint Board of Moderators, the Chartered Institution of Building Service Engineers, and the Royal Institute of British Architects. The first year introduces fundamental principles through modules such as Architecture and Sustainability, Structural Analysis and Design, and Integrated Design Project 1. The second year continues with Building Physics 1: Fundamental Principles, Architectural History and Theory 2, and Design Studio 2. The third year covers subjects including Architectural History and Theory 3, Building Physics 2: Services Design, and an Individual Research Project 1 alongside dedicated design studios. The final fourth year advances into professional topics and advanced studios through Sustainable Cities, Law, Practice & Project Management, and Building Physics 3.
