About this course

BEng in Chemical Engineering, a chemical engineering degree centred on industrial processes and sustainable systems. Students can choose from pathways in digital manufacturing and processes, energy, nuclear or materials, and have the option to undertake an industrial placement year. The first year introduces foundational principles through modules such as Introductory Science, Engineering Mathematics, Mass and Energy Balances, and Thermodynamics and Transport Phenomena Fundamentals. The second year advances this knowledge with Advanced Engineering Mathematics and Numerical Methods, Chemical Engineering Practice and Process Simulation, Chemical Reaction Engineering, and Separation Process Principles. The final year focuses on advanced applications and complex systems, featuring compulsory study in Process Plant Design Project, Process Optimisation and Control, Sustainability in Process Engineering, and Energy Technologies.
