About this course
MEng, BEng in Chemical Engineering (Industrial), a chemical engineering degree centred on industrial processes, plant design, and sustainable technologies. Core topics include Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. The programme incorporates an industrial placement year, allowing students to gain practical work experience before completing advanced study. The first year covers the foundations through Introductory Science, Professional Engineering Skills, Engineering Mathematics, and Process Engineering Fundamentals. The second year progresses to Advanced Engineering Mathematics and Numerical Methods, Chemical Engineering Practice and Process Simulation, Applied Thermodynamics and Transport Phenomena, and Process Safety and Environmental Engineering. The third year involves the Process Plant Design Project, Engineering Management and Discovery Labs, Process Optimisation and Control, and Multi-phase Separations and Solids Processing. The fifth year includes advanced study through the Research and Innovation Project, Chemical Products Design and Development, Multi-scale Modelling and Simulation, and Process Digitalisation and Machine Learning.
